This recording highlights the choir singing music based primarily on chant melodies. Unison singing is featured, as well as two- and four-part chant. The sung liturgy from the Compline worship service is heard in its entirety.
The choral singing is augmented by complimentary organ voluntaries, many of which are also based on chant melodies. In total, the selected works extend and comment on the textual themes found in the liturgy.
